Regional Partnership Grants (RPG) Program Staff Survey
Frequently Asked Questions
1.

Who is conducting this survey?

This survey is being conducted for the Children’s Bureau (CB) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, Administration for Children and Families. Mathematica Policy Research is conducting the survey with
funding from CB.
2.

What is this survey about?

The survey is for front-line staff who work directly with Regional Partnership Grants (RPG) program participants.
The survey will collect information about characteristics of the staff and organizations implementing RPG-funded
programs. This survey is part of the national cross-site evaluation of the RPG program that Mathematica is
conducting. The RPG program supports interagency collaborations and program integration designed to
increase the well-being, improve the permanency, and enhance the safety of children who are in, or at risk of,
out-of-home placements as a result of a parent or caretaker’s substance abuse.
The evaluation focuses on specific evidence-based programs (EBPs), and many questions in the survey will
reference a specific EBP. Please answer the questions about the specific program that is listed and not other
other programs that your organization may operate.
3.

How will data be collected for this evaluation?

The staff survey will be administered on the web two times, in [YEAR] and again in [YEAR]. Each time it will be
available online for eight weeks. Other data will be collected for the evaluation through activities such as site
visits and a survey of RPG partner agencies.
4.

How were staff members selected for this survey?

Approximately 425 front-line staff across 17 RPG grantees are invited to participate. Mathematica requested
contact information for RPG front-line staff from each grantee
5.

What will be the final product of this evaluation?

Mathematica will produce annual reports to Congress as well as a final evaluation report.
6.

Will anyone find out about what I say in this survey?

Your responses will be kept private and used only for research purposes. They will be combined with the
responses of other staff and no individual names will be reported.
7.

Do I have to participate?

Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and you may choose to skip any question.
8.

How long will it take to complete the survey?

The length of this survey is different for different people, but on average it should take about 25 minutes.
