Good Evening Working Group

I’m reaching out to you to get feedback on item we’re discussing with the contractor.

One detail that a user can enter in about their school is the school type.  We obtained the list from Department of Education and added a few more (in blue font) based on recommendations we had during our last working group meeting in April.

1.       Regular

2.       Special Education

3.       Career/Technical/Vocational

4.       Alternative/Other

5.       Private School

6.       Residential Child Care Institute (RCCI)

7.       Montessori

8.       Early Childhood Education Program/HeadStart

9.       Child Care Center

We are reviewing the list again and questioning the items highlighted since Professionals Standards only applies to Schools and not CACFP providers.   We understand that the highlighted programs may be serviced by the school food service.  However, will the employee really choose these CACFP options for school type (ex. HeadStart, Montessori) or will he/she choose the option that pertain to the school they’re working at (ex. Regular)?

Please share your thoughts by Tuesday, June 28th, 1pm, on including or not including these as school type options for the tool.

Hello Everyone,

I would agree that there needs to be a designation for Food Service Staff.  Since you have designated State Agency in front of all of those applicable to state agency staff, I think it might be helpful to designate those applicable to SFAs- SFA -District Director, SFA -Site Manager, SFA -Food Service Staff, SFA- Part Time Food Service Staff.  I also like the “Other” possibility since there are sometimes volunteers that can participate in training and may want to track hours.
