The Secretary amends the Student
Assistance General Provisions by adding New Subpart Q to Part 668.
This subpart applies to postsecondary educational programs that
lead to gainful employment in recognized occupations and the
conditions under which these educational programs remain eligible
for student financial assistance programs authorized under Title IV
of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended.
US Code:
20 USC 1088, 1094 Name of Law: the Higher Education Act of
1965, as amended (HEA)
The 3,118,160 hours were
transferred to ICR 1845-0107 under that recently approved Notice of
Action (NOA) dated 1/12/2017. These hours pertain to the Disclosure
Regulations for Gainful Employment Programs. Due to the sun-setting
of the regulations previously tied to 1845-0107, the ICR was
approved with the transfer of the responses, respondents and burden
hours from 1845-0123 to 1845-0107. This is done to maintain the
flexibility of updates to the Disclosure Template and for easy of
use by the public. This request will also ensure that there is no
double counting of burden for completion of the GE Disclosure
Template.
