Issue Title: Updates to the Justification for OMB Collection 2900-0219
Date of Report: 07/06/2017
Brief Statement of Issue: A review of the OMB collection 2900-0219 for the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA), Spina Bifida Health Care Benefits Program; and Children of Women Vietnam Veterans (CWVV) Health Care Benefits Program found that information needed to be updated to ensure a more accurate estimate. Specifically, the beneficiary claims received were lower than estimated, the current justification does not include the collection of CHAMVPA appeals and preauthorization requests, and the BLS hourly rate needed to be updated.
Implications: The new estimates result in a lower public time burden but higher costs.
