OSHA does not mandate that employers
establish fire brigades; however, if they do so, they must comply
with certain provisions of the Standard. The Standard imposes the
following paperwork requirements on each employer who establishes a
fire brigade: Write an organizational statement; ascertain the
fitness of workers with specific medical conditions to participate
in fire related operations; and provide appropriate training and
information to fire brigade members.

There is an adjustment increase
in burden hours from 2,510 to 2,693, a total increase of 183 hours.
The adjustment primarily is due to an increase in the estimated
number of manufacturing facilities with 100 or more workers.
