B1B2 Approach Script
We are working with health colleagues, from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to develop educational materials for people, like you, who want to immigrate to the US and who are told they have a TB condition. The goal of this project is to help people understand why they get a TB designation and why it is important to have another medical appointment for TB after arriving in the United States.
Because you have been given a TB designation, our colleagues are very interested in your opinion about what information should be provided to help others understand the process and how to address problems people might experience because of their TB designation. These colleagues would like to talk with you to gather your opinions. Talking to them is completely voluntary and will not impact your immigration process. They will not take your name or any other information about you. No one will be able to connect the opinions you share to you, your family, or your experience. During the conversation they will share with you some informational materials to get your opinions and ideas. If you are OK talking to them, it will take no longer than 60-90 minutes. If you do not want to participate that is fine. Again, this will not affect your immigration process or access to medical care.
If you agree to participate, I will take you to a room where they are available to talk to you as soon as we are finished here. Are you willing to take part in this activity?
Are you over 18 years of age?
__Yes, agree to participate and over 18 years of age.
__No thank you.
