Owners of marine portable tanks and owners/designers of non-specification portable tanks.

What is this collection about?

This information collection requires an owner who proposes alterations to a marine portable tank or a non-specification portable tank design used to transfer hazardous materials during offshore operations to provide plans and technical information to the Coast Guard (CG).

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?

Information must be submitted to the CG prior to construction or modification of a portable tank.

How is the information submitted?

In writing or electronically via e-mail. Information must be submitted to the CG Marine Safety Center (MSC). For information on submitting information to the CG MSC, go tohttps://homeport.uscg.mil/msc > Contact Us > Mail Address, Telephone Contacts, and E-Commerce Info.

What happens when complete information is received?

Once all required information has been provided and the CG approves it, you will be notified in writing.
