2018 Survey of Compact of Free Association (COFA) Migrants

Dear Resident:

Sorry I missed you.

The U.S. Census Bureau is conducting a survey to determine the impact of the Compact of Free Association (COFA). The U.S. Census Bureau chose your address, not you, as part of a randomly selected sample. I stopped by today to complete a survey questionnaire for your household, but you were not home. If you would like to provide the information over the phone – it generally takes about 20 minutes – you can telephone me at the number listed below. Otherwise, I will stop back in the next day or two.

I want to emphasize that the Census Bureau is required by law to keep your information confidential (Title 13, United States Code, Section 9). The Census Bureau is not permitted to publicly release your responses in a way that could identify you or this household. Per the Federal Cybersecurity Enhancement Act of 2015, your data are protected from cybersecurity risks through screening of the systems that transmit your data. By law, the Census Bureau can only use your responses to produce statistics.

The results of this survey will be used to disburse funds for health, educational, social, or public safety programs.

The success of this survey depends on you. Thank you.
