Testing Health Communication Messages to Promote Hepatitis C Testing among U.S. Adults

U.S. adults 21 years of age and older. This population reflects CDC's new, universal hepatitis C testing
guidelines for all adults that are scheduled to be released next year. Focus group facilities will select
potential respondents from their database that match the criteria listed in the focus group screener.

A health communication campaign to educate adults about the importance of getting tested for hepatitis C.
The campaign will support the new CDC recommendation released in 2020 that all adults get tested once
for hepatitis C.

The materials tested will comprise an updated campaign that will be released to support the CDC
recommendation to test all adults for hepatitis C. The results of the message testing will be used to
improve existing materials targeting baby boomers and ensure the materials are effectively promoting
hepatitis C testing to a broader audience of U.S. adults. From this testing, we will determine if existing
materials are relevant to all adults, or if the materials will need to be adapted to improve effectiveness.
