Blood Culture Contamination Laboratory Practice Survey
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) are conducting a survey to learn about laboratories’ practices
and policies for reducing blood culture contamination with the goal of improving
practice and patient care. The baseline and post-surveys will each take approximately
35 minutes to complete; participation is voluntary. The results from the survey will be
compiled and shared in aggregate as a learning tool, presented at professional
conferences and potentially published in a professional journal in the field of laboratory
science. All information collected in these surveys will be kept in a secure manner;
your IP address will NOT be retained.
If your laboratory has not yet participated in the baseline survey, please visit
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3Y9Z38P and complete it by (date to be determined
by OMB approval). If your laboratory has not yet participated in the post-survey, which
was distributed six months after the baseline survey, please visit
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6TNXKMF and complete it by (date to be
determined by OMB approval). Your feedback is critical to guiding ASM and CDC in
their efforts to improve practice and patient care. Contact [email protected] with
questions or concerns.
