AGENCY:
The Department of Justice
(DOJ), Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA), will be
submitting the following information
collection request to the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB) for
review and approval in accordance with
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
The proposed information collection
was previously published in the Federal
Register on December 14, 2018,
allowing for a 60 day comment period.
DATES: Comments are encouraged and
will be accepted for 30 days until March
25, 2019.

Written comments and suggestions

concerning the proposed collection of

Affected public (Other): Not-for-profit
institutions; Federal, State, local, and

Abstract: The Controlled Substances
Act (CSA) (21 U.S.C. 801–971) requires
all persons that manufacture, distribute,
dispense, conduct research with,
import, or export any controlled
substance to obtain a registration issued
by the Attorney General. The DEA will
be revising the proposed information
collection instruments concerning the
liability questions on the Application
for Registration and Application for
Registration Renewal. Over the years,
many applicants have answered some of
the liability questions incorrectly. These
changes will avoid confusion to the
applicant by separating compound
questions into multiple parts that will
require the applicant to answer them
individually.

Abstract: Pursuant to 21 U.S.C. 826(c)
and 21 CFR 1303.22 and 1315.22, any
person who is registered to manufacture
any basic class of controlled substances
listed in Schedule I or II, or the List I
chemicals ephedrine, pseudoephedrine,
or phenylpropanolamine, and who
desires to manufacture a quantity of
such class or such List I chemical, must
apply on DEA Form 189 for a
manufacturing quota for such quantity
of such class or List I chemical.

respondents complete 859 DEA Form

Federal Advisory Committee (GAC) to

priorities for the FY19 Fiscal Year.
