FY 2019 Quarterly Reporting Protocol for Source Water Protection Measures

Action

No Later Than

States should report two numbers to their Regional Office of through the State Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS).

  1. The number of Community Water Systems (CWS) that have substantially implemented Source Water Protection (SWP) according to the state definition, and

  2. The population served by those CWS

States should document and report to the region any changes to their definition of substantial implementation.

Regions Determine


Using SDWIS, the Regions should calculate the percentages CWS and the population of each state receiving water from CWS that have substantially implemented source water protection.


Once the Regions have calculated percentages for each state, they may complete entry of the final percentages into the Agency’s measures and metrics charts, noting in the comment field

  1. Whether each state is reporting though SDWIS, and

  2. Whether any state has changed its definition of substantial implementation.
