Part III: Processing and Use Information
Mock-ups of reporting tool views associated with
the following changes:
• Removal of ability to claim CBI for certain data
elements
• Replaces drop down choices with an intelligent
search mechanism, used with the proposed revised
codes
• Addition of OECD-based function code for consumer
and commercial uses

Regarding CBI claims: Note that there
are no CBI columns next to the three
data elements for which confidentiality
claims cannot be made.

Note: This is an updated approach
to reporting the industrial processing
and use information, enabling the
use of an intelligent search
mechanism. The 2016 CDR used
independent drop-down menus for
each data element.

Regarding CBI claims: Note that there
are no CBI columns next to the four
data elements for which confidentiality
claims cannot be made.

Note: This is an updated approach
to reporting the consumer and
commercial use information,

Reporting a Co-Manufactured Chemical
Mock-ups of reporting tool views associated with
the following changes:
• Identification of the producing company by the
contracting company
• Sending the notification of the need to report to the
producing company by the contracting company
Q: What is a co-manufactured chemical?
A: A co-manufactured chemical is produced exclusively for another person who contracts for such production. To be
considered co-manufactured, the producing company produces the chemical exclusively for another person (the
contracting company) under contract for that production, and the contracting company specifies the identity of the
chemical, the total amount produced, and the basic technology for the plant process.
• The contracting company is the primary submitter who initiates the multi-reporter submission who provides volume
and processing and use information.
• The producing company is the secondary submitter who provides the manufacturing-related information.

(Full View)
Note: This is the view for the
primary submitter (i.e., the
contracting company).
The contracting company identifies
the producing company, providing
the information needed to send a
notification of the need for the
producing company to provide
information for the co-manufactured
chemical.

Primary Submitter: Manufacturing-Related
Information Provided by Contracting Company
• Chemical identity
– TSCA identity
– Alternate name used for producing company, if needed

• Production volumes
– The 2019 volume reported would be used for determining
the percentages for the processing and use information
– Past production volumes (e.g., 2016, 2017, 2018 for 2020
submission period)
– In the event that there are multiple producing companies,
these volumes would be the total for the chemical
