Thank you for your March 23, 2018 letter requesting support from the Bureau oflndustry
and Security (BIS), Office of Technology Evaluation (OTE) to conduct a comprehensive survey
and assessment of the commercial contractors and subcontractors supporting U.S. Air Force
systems including aircraft, aircraft engines, space and communications systems, and subsysteins.
BIS is prepared to work with your organization on this project to assess the health and
competitiveness of the commercial supply chain network which interacts with your critical
maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities.

OTE is
responsible for conducting industry-wide surveys and assessments under the authority of the
Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended, and related executive orders. Mr. Botwin will
work with your staff to establish an Interagency Agreement between our organizations, and a
Statement of Work detailing overall objectives and milestones for this project.
