Federal Communications Commission
Explanation of a Non-Substantive Change to OMB Control Number 3060-0824:
FCC Form 498
Purpose of this Submission: This submission is being made for a non-substantive change request to existing information collections pursuant to 44 U.S.C. § 3507. The Commission seeks to change the FCC Form 498 and Instructions (OMB Control No. 3060-0824)
Summary of Updates to the FCC Form and Instructions
DATA Act Business Types (new field): The Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act) directs Federal agencies to report financial obligations and standardize the information that recipients of federal funds report to government agencies. To comply with the DATA Act, the FCC proposes to add a new field, DATA Act Business Type, to FCC Form 498, the Service Provider and Billed Entity Identification Number and General Contact Form. When completing or updating this form, service providers and billed entities will be required to select up to three business types that best describes the organization.
Officer Certification (block number change): Block number will be changed from Block 21 to Block 22, due to the addition of the DATA Act Business Types block on the FCC Forms 498 and FCC Form Instructions.
Notice (clarification): Slight modification to language on page 21 of the FCC Form 498 and page 11 of the FCC Form 498 Instructions to clarify disclosure requirements. Language now reads as follows: In addition, the Name, Address, DUNS Number and Business Type will be disclosed in accordance with FFATA/DATA Act reporting requirements.
There are no changes in the burdens and no costs are associated with this information collection.
