Burden for Accrediting Agencies that respond to the information collection #1840-0788 per requirements:  34 CFR §602


The Department of Education (the Department) proposes to amend its regulations governing accrediting agencies, involving certain student assistance general provisions and institutional eligibility, and to make various technical corrections.  These proposed regulations are a result of negotiated rulemaking in early 2019 and would add new requirements to the current regulations. Data collection and burden for this collection are related to requirements from 34 CFR §602: The Secretary’s Recognition of Accrediting Agencies. The Department is requesting an increase in burden of 6,562 hours from 53 respondents.
