An Administrative Waiver is completed by NOAA Fisheries Office for Law Enforcement (OLE), Juneau to document a request for an administrative waiver from one of the following requirements. The waiver is granted at the discretion of the clearing officer:


♦ Six-hour Prior of Notice of Landing

Issued to a vessel to land fish before the required 6 hours


♦ 12-hour IFQ Landing Window

Issued to a vessel that lands fish after hours: after 1800 and before 0600


♦ Electronic Landing Report requirement.

Issued due to eLandings failure

♦ IFQ hired master onboard requirement.

Issued for the IFQ hired master to not be on board in extreme personal emergencies


OLE receives a request for an administrative waiver by telephone at a NMFS-provided toll-free number (or, in rare cases, by marine radio) from participants in IFQ fisheries. No form exists for this waiver.
