This is a request by the Department of Education (Department) for continued approval of the reporting, disclosure and records maintenance requirements that are contained in the Student Assistance General Provisions regulations, the Federal Perkins Loan program, the Federal Work-Study program, and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant program. The purpose of this submission is to renew this collection for the next three year period.


The information collection with OMB Control Number 1845-0019 includes:


Part 673 – General Provisions for the Federal Perkins Loan Program, Federal Work-Study Program, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program which governs the following three programs authorized by title IV of the HEA that participating institutions administer:

Part 674 – Federal Perkins Loan Program – encourages the making of loans by institutions to needy undergraduate and graduate students to help pay for their cost of education.

Part 675 – Federal Work-Study (FWS) Programs – encourages the part-time employment of undergraduate and graduate students who need the income to help pay for their cost of education and which encourages FWS recipients to participate in community service activities.

Part 676 – Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program – encourages the providing of grants to exceptionally needy undergraduate students to help pay for their cost of education.


These Campus-Based Program regulations include both recordkeeping and reporting requirements. There have been no changes to the regulatory language and we are requesting an extension of the most recent burden assessed.
