Dear [PARTICIPANT NAME],

We need your help! You have been chosen to help the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service with an important study about the SNAP (also known as Food Stamps) Employment and Training (E&T) program. The study seeks to better understand the overall role of job search activities in serving SNAP E&T participants like you and how well these activities work in helping people find jobs.

How can you help? Please take part in a short, voluntary phone interview about your experiences with the SNAP E&T program. The interview will take only about 30 minutes. You will receive a $30 gift card for talking with us!

What happens next? Someone from the study team at Insight Policy Research will call you in about a week to ask you to complete the interview over the phone. You may also call us toll-free at [1-800-xxx-xxxx] or visit www.calendly.com/snapjobsearch to schedule a time to do the interview—it is your choice. After you complete the interview, we will send you a $30 prepaid gift card in the mail.

Everything that you say will be private. We will not use your name in any reports. We will not share your answers with any SNAP or E&T provider staff. Participating in the interview will not affect your benefits or the benefits anyone else in your household receives in any way.

We need you! You do not have to take part in the interview, but it would be very helpful if you did. If you have any questions, please call us at [1-800-xxx-xxxx]. Thank you in advance for your participation in this study.

Sincerely,

Kathryn Law

Director, SNAP Research and Analysis Division
