Justification for Nonsubstantive Change:
External Quality Review (EQR) of Medicaid Managed Care, EQR Protocols, and Supporting Regulations

On October 24, 2109, OMB approved the subject information collection request that included revised EQR protocols (hereafter, “2019 EQR protocols”). While the 2019 EQR protocol document was properly attached to the state-specific IC, it was not attached to the private sector IC. Instead, the private sector IC had inadvertently carried over the now outdated 2012 protocol document.
To correct this oversight we propose to remove the outdated 2012 protocol document from the private sector IC and replace that document with the active 2019 EQR protocol document.
This nonsubstantive change request does not propose any changes to the active 2019 EQR protocol document, nor does it propose changes to any of the active requirements or burden estimates.
Finally, we are not proposing any changes to the active Supporting Statements (both, A or B).
