Recruiting Volunteers for a Research Study
A Home Assessment Disaster Preparedness Study for
Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
About the Project:
We want to better understand what
caregivers of children and youth with special
health care needs should have to be prepared
in an emergency or natural disaster. We
would like to test an emergency preparedness
checklist the research team has developed, to
see if it meets your needs.
We would like your help with:
Answering some questions about
preparedness while we are in your
home, virtually/telephonic or in-person.
Allowing us in your home again 3-6 months
later for another home visit,
virtually/telephonic or in-person.
Providing feedback to the team on the
visiting process
Our goal is that this project will help you and
your family be more prepared if an emergency
or natural disaster were to occur.
Payment:
You will receive a $50 gift card at the
completion of each home visit
(two visits total).
You may be able to
participate if:
1. You are a primary caregiver of a
child or youth with significant
special health care needs, and,
2. Your child or youth is between 0-26
years old, and,
3. You speak English or Spanish, and,
4. You live in Pennsylvania
5. You have access to a phone.
