The CMS’ Electronic Medical
Documentation Interoperability (EMDI) program supports the Office
of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC)
standards and interoperability programs. CMS has developed an EMDI
Pre and Post Pilot Survey to collect information/data that will
help the EMDI team, and CMS determine the overall effectiveness of
piloting the EMDI program. The program aims to reduce
administrative burden for providers, increase interoperability
among systems and organizations across the public and private
sectors, and improve provider communication.
