The CMSâ Electronic Medical Documentation Interoperability (EMDI) program supports the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) standards and interoperability programs. CMS has developed an EMDI Pre and Post Pilot Survey to collect information/data that will help the EMDI team, and CMS determine the overall effectiveness of piloting the EMDI program. The program aims to reduce administrative burden for providers, increase interoperability among systems and organizations across the public and private sectors, and improve provider communication.
