The Anonymous Instance - Research Electronic Data Capture
(AIREDC) is being implemented as a data collection tool
offered to CDC programs to support public health research
and public health emergency response. It will be a primary
data collection and research management system for all
NCEZID divisions and branches, providing users a tool-set to
manage clinical intervention trials in the field while collecting
data on the efficacy of such trials. AIREDC will also assist
epidemiological investigations in the field through the
creation of dynamic data collection instruments.

11 Describe the purpose of the system.

AIREDC will not collect or request PII or any sensitive
information for clinical or epidemiological follow-up and
intervention. There are no forms or fields for PII collection, nor
is PII collection necessary for the system to be utilized.

Describe the type of information the system will
collect, maintain (store), or share. (Subsequent

vaccine trials, and various other public health events.
However, AIREDC will not collect or request PII or any sensitive
information for clinical or epidemiological follow-up and
intervention. There are no forms or fields for PII collection, nor
