Abstract: The Expedited Reinstatement Application is to reengage with the RPCVs and provide a straightforward process to reenter volunteer service. It has been streamlined by removing unnecessary questions that remain in the original application form. It is critical that the Peace Corps be able to quickly and efficiently rebuild its Volunteer program, since they carry out our purpose and mission across the globe. Currently the Peace Corps does not have any Peace Corps Volunteers, a first since this agency's creation.

Emergency Justfication: The Peace Corps is seeking an emergency authorization to collect information from Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), including Volunteers, Trainees, and Response Volunteers, who were recently evacuated from their countries of service in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) pandemic. Evacuated RPCVs are currently members of the public. The purpose of the Peace Corps’ Expedited Reinstatement Application is to provide evacuated RPCVs a quick and efficient process to reenter volunteer service. The form removed portions of PC-1502, OMB Control Number 0420-0005, which is still used by this agency.

Short Statement: The Peace Corps does not have any Peace Corps Volunteers due to the World-wide evacuation of all of its Volunteers. This a first since this agency's creation. The increase represents applications for not just the recent evacuees, but also recent RPCVs who may feel motivated to serve again to help build up our numbers.
