If you indicate “Yes,” each family member must also file Form I-765 with the appropriate fee or request for fee waiver. The Form I-765 can be filed with the Form I-914, Supplement A, or at a later time. If your family member is living outside the United States, he or she is not eligible to receive employment authorization until he or she is lawfully admitted to the United States. Do not file Form I-765 for a family who is living outside of the United States.

As the principal applicant you do not need to file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization Document. Derivative family members are also authorized to work if Form I-914, Supplement A, is approved. If your derivative family member wants to obtain an EAD as evidence of his or her authorization to work, each family member must file Form I-765 with the appropriate fee or request for fee waiver.
