Dear Dr. Fixler and Ms. Burrell,
Thank you for the letter of support and sharing the specific uses that BEA has of the
data. NASS evaluates our programs every five years following the Census of Agriculture
to see what changes can be made to improve and strengthen our data in order to better
serve the needs of our data users. Currently, we are only looking at two minor program
changes to the prices docket. We have moved the sweet corn prices to the vegetable
docket (0535-0037) and the collection of data for raw sugar has been moved to our
Field Crops docket (0535-0002).
All other changes to this group of surveys are just minor adjustments to the sample
sizes due to changes in the target population since the previous approval in October
2017.
We will keep you informed of any future modifications.
