an approval to conduct or sponsor an information collection under
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. This action has no effect on
any current approvals. If OMB has assigned this ICR a new OMB
Control Number, the OMB Control Number will not appear in the
active inventory. For future submissions of this information
collection, reference the OMB Control Number provided. In
accordance with 5 CFR 1320, OMB is withholding approval at this
time. OMB reminds the agency to submit proposed rule information
collection requests on or before the proposed rule publication
date, as required by 5 CFR 1320.11(b). OMB also requests that the
agency consider whether rule changes will affect existing
information collections under this control number, separate from
the new notarized letter requirement. Prior to publication of the
final rule, the agency must submit to OMB a summary of all comments
related to the information collection contained in the proposed
rule and the agency response. The agency should clearly indicate
any changes made to the information collection as a result of these
comments.

Public Law requires the Secretary of
the Interior to maintain and expand the National Register of
Historic Places. The Registration form documents properties for
listing and demonstrates they meet the established criteria. The
documentation assists in evaluating, preserving, and protecting
properties.

The program change includes a
new requirement for property owners objecting to a property being
listed in the National Register to submit notarized letters to the
SHPO. This change caused a net increase of 50 respondents and 50
annual burden hours
