Honey: Final Estimates by State and United States, 2013-2017, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Statistics
Board, National Agricultural Statistics Service, Statistical Bulletin No. SB-1058.
Introduction: This bulletin presents final estimates, including revisions made by the Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB),
for the production years 2013 through 2017. Honey producing colonies, yield per colony, honey production, producer held
stocks, price per pound, and value of production were published in calendar years 2013-2017 in annual ASB reports. Data
included in this publication provide a historic record and benchmark for current estimates.
Procedures: Revisions were made after a thorough review of the original survey data and all additional data now
available, including the 2017 Census of Agriculture. The 2013-2017 estimates shown herein are considered final and will
not be revised again. Revisions to honey produced at the National level are as follows:

Agricultural Census Publications: The U. S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service
(NASS) will release several products from the 2017 Census of Agriculture on April 11, 2019. The Census is the leading
source of statistics about the Nation’s agricultural production and the only source of consistent, comparable data at the
county, state, and national levels. The Census includes all places from which $1,000 or more of agricultural products,
including government payments, were produced and sold, or normally would have been sold, during the census year.
Census publications also include demographic items such as sex of producer, residence on or off the farm, days worked
off farm, years present on farm, age group categories, race, and number of persons living in each household.

Access to NASS Reports
For your convenience, you may access NASS reports and products the following ways:
 All reports are available electronically, at no cost, on the NASS web site: www.nass.usda.gov
 Both national and state specific reports are available via a free e-mail subscription. To set-up this free
subscription, visit www.nass.usda.gov and click on “National” or “State” in upper right corner above “search”
box to create an account and select the reports you would like to receive.
 Cornell’s Mann Library has launched a new website housing NASS’s and other agency’s archived

reports. The new website, https://usda.library.cornell.edu. All email subscriptions containing reports will
be sent from the new website, https://usda.library.cornell.edu. To continue receiving the reports via email, you will have to go to the new website, create a new account and re-subscribe to the reports. If you
need instructions to set up an account or subscribe, they are located at:
https://usda.library.cornell.edu/help. You should whitelist [email protected] in your email client to avoid the emails going into spam/junk folders.
