On behalf of the study team, I want to thank you for your time and effort through your participation in the How States Safeguard SNAP Participants’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII) study.

Findings from this study will allow USDA Food and Nutrition Service to gain knowledge and share information with State agencies on ways they can improve how they safeguard SNAP PII through innovative and cost-effective practices. The study will also describe the various constraints State agencies face in their efforts to maintain PII protection and how State agencies reacted to these challenges. Through increased understanding of both challenges and strategies for overcoming them, future policies and regulations can better support State agencies in maintaining adequate protection.
