As Administrator of the Westat Institutional Review Board (IRB), I reviewed the materials submitted
for the following: SFPS-IV, Project Number 6735.01. The Westat IRB reviews all studies
involving research on human subjects. This project was last reviewed in January 2020.
For this amendment, the data collection has been streamlined and all participants invited to
complete the survey at the onset. In addition, the food purchase data template is being replaced
with a checklist that specifies the required data fields. The study no longer collects data from
vendors.
The regulations (45 CFR 46) permit expedited review of minor changes in previously approved
activities. I am therefore approving the modifications under expedited authority.
