DFARS Appendix I, requires contractors
participating in the Pilot Mentor-Protege Program as mentors to
keep records and report on progress in achieving the developmental
assistance objectives under each mentor-protege agreement. A
supplemental information collection requirement is imposed on
protege firms to report on progress made under the mentor-ptotege
agreements.
The change in burden is the
result of the additional reporting requirements in section 861 of
the NDAA for FY 2016 (Pub. L. 114-92). Section 861 requires mentor
firms to report details of the assistance provided and subcontracts
awarded to protégé firms, as well as a narrative describing the
success this assistance has had in addressing the developmental
needs of the protégé firm.
