PRA Package 0938-0582, (CMS-368/-R-144) Medicaid Drug Rebate Program State Reporting Forms, received one comment during the 60-day period. This comment (1k5-91fr-stnn) is from a Collaborative Workgroup composed of individuals from states, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and industry professionals.

Overview:

CMS is in the process of building a new Medicaid Drug Programs (MDP) system which will replace the current Medicaid Drug Rebate (MDR) system, effective July 1, 2021. Throughout 2020, CMS sent out various corresponding state and manufacturer emails communications pertaining to the MDP file format updates. The commenter is asking for clarification that the current State Invoice electronic format ‘Filler’ field will remain unchanged, as well as to confirm the new MDP “Delete Flag’ field is replacing the ‘Filler’ field in the State Drug Utilization Data (SDUD) file format.

CMS Response:

CMS confirms the State Invoice electronic format ‘Filler’ field will remain unchanged and that the new MDP “Delete Flag’ field is replacing the ‘Filler’ field in the State Drug Utilization Data (SDUD) file format.

Action(s) Taken:

The updates to the State Invoice electronic format and State Drug Utilization Data (SDUD) file format were conveyed to states in a 10/27/2020, email.
