Who must comply?

Owners and operators of U.S.-flag inspected vessels.

What is this collection about?

The Coast Guard (CG) established an optional Alternate Compliance Program (ACP) to provide owners and operators of U.S. vessels an alternative method of complying with inspection requirements.

Title 46 CFR Part 8 is available at— https://www.eCFR.gov, select TITLE 46 – SHIPPING, and follow to Part 8.

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?

The information must be provided to the CG prior to a vessel participating in the ACP.

How is the information submitted?

In writing or electronically via e-mail. Information is submitted to the CG Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI) at the local Sector Office.

Use form CG-3752. The form is available at this LINK.

What happens when complete information is received?

The CG will review the information and determine if a vessel is eligible to participate in the ACP, and advise the vessel owner or operator in writing.
