This letter is in response to your request for continued Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval of your
research project. As noted in prior correspondence about this research, this approval applies to the
planning phase of research only.
Your activities to develop a plan for data collection and to conduct pre studies to inform the research
methods and materials you will generate for the conduct of future research are approved. However, prior
to recruiting participants or collecting data for research purposes the IRB requires a submission of a fully
specified plan for research for review and approval of those specific plans.
Note that the specific research plans will be reviewed in relation to the 2018 Common Rule (45 CFR 46).
Your proposal and materials should be developed accordingly.
Please promptly report any substantive changes to your planning activities to the IRB.
