Who must comply?	A Master, owner or agent of a vessel.
What is this collection about?	The information is used by the Coast Guard (CG) to ensure that a deviation from the navigation safety equipment requirements does not reduce safety
Where do I find the requirements for this information?	Title 33 CFR Subchapter P is available at—https://www.eCFR.gov, select TITLE 33 –NAVIGATION AND NAVIGABLE WATERS and follow to Subchapter P.
When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?	Information is submitted only when a Master, owner, or agent (applicant) seeks a deviation from the requirements in 33 CFR Subchapter P.
How is the information submitted?	In writing, electronically via e-mail or facsimile, or verbally (e.g., phone or radio). Information is submitted to the CG. Contact info is below.
What happens when complete information is received?	CG will review the information and determine if it justifies the applicant’s request for deviation. CG will advise the applicant of its determination.
