Federal Register / Vol. 86, No. 160 / Monday, August 23, 2021 / Notices
requested permit modification and
permit issued.
DATES: October 30, 2016–January 31,
2023.
The permit modification was issued
on August 17, 2021.
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT:
Polly Penhale, ACA Permit Officer,
Office of Polar Programs, National
Science Foundation, 2415 Eisenhower
Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22314; 703–
292–7420; email: [email protected].
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The
National Science Foundation (NSF), as
directed by the Antarctic Conservation
Act of 1978 (Public Law 95–541, 45 CFR
670), as amended by the Antarctic
Science, Tourism and Conservation Act
of 1996, has developed regulations for
the establishment of a permit system for
various activities in Antarctica and
designation of certain animals and
certain geographic areas a requiring
special protection.
NSF issued a permit (ACA 2017–020)
to Leidos Innovations Group on October
30, 2016. The issued permit allows the
permit holder to import and use
commercially available, bacteria
supplement for municipal Wastewater
Treatment Plants, to be used in the
wastewater treatment plant at McMurdo
Station, Antarctica. The permit includes
mitigation measures to prevent release
of bacteria into the Antarctic
Environment, including sterilization of
all effluent prior to discharge.
Now the permit holder proposes a
permit modification to extend the
expiration date of the permit until
January 31, 2023. The Environmental
Officer has reviewed the modification
request and has determined that the
amendment is not a material change to
the permit, and it will have a less than
a minor or transitory impact.
Erika N. Davis,
Program Specialist, Office of Polar Programs.

Under the provisions of the

U.S.C. Chapter 35), the NRC recently
submitted a request for renewal of an
existing collection of information to
OMB for review entitled, ‘‘Requests to
Agreement States and Non-Agreement
States for Information.’’ The NRC hereby
informs potential respondents that an
agency may not conduct or sponsor, and
that a person is not required to respond
to, a collection of information unless it
displays a currently valid OMB control
number.
The NRC published a Federal
Register notice with a 60-day comment
period on this information collection on
April 26, 2021, 86 FR 22077.
1. The title of the information
collection: ‘‘Requests to Agreement
States and Non-Agreement States for
Information’’.
2. OMB approval number: 3150–0029.
3. Type of submission: Revision.
4. The form number, if applicable:
Not applicable.
5. How often the collection is required

8. The estimated number of annual
respondents: 52.
9. The estimated number of hours
needed annually to comply with the
information collection requirement or
request: 15,720.
10. Abstract: The NRC is requesting
OMB approval of a plan for a generic
collection of information. The need and
practicality of the collection can be
evaluated, but the details of the specific
individual collections will not be
known until a later time. The
Agreement States and non-Agreement
States will be asked on a one-time or as
needed basis to respond to a specific
incident, to gather information on
licensing and inspection practices or
other technical information, or to
provide comments on proposed policy
and program updates. The results of
such information requests, which are
authorized under Section 274(b) of the
Atomic Energy Act, will be utilized in
part by the NRC in preparing responses
to Congressional inquiries. In addition,
the information can assist the
Commission in its considerations and
