Overview of Changes to the Commercial Floriculture Survey

The targeted states have been expanded from the 17 states approved under the previous OMB approval, to include all 50 states under this renewal.

Plant varieties added to the January 2022, US version (all 50 states) of the questionnaire; using the same breakouts as in past.

Section 1 – Cut Flowers

• Aster

• Delphinium and Larkspur

• Lisianthus

• Protea

• Waxflowers

Section 2 – Potted Flowering Plants for Indoor or Patio Use

• Begonia

• Hibiscus, potted

• Hydrangea

• Lilies, other

Section 3 – Potted Herbaceous Perennials

• Dianthus

• Lavender

• Salvia, perennial

• Sedum

Section 4 – Annual Bedding/Garden Plants

• Calibrachoa

• Geraniums, seeds and plug seedlings

• Impatiens, interspecific hybrids

• Vinca

• Herbs, culinary

• Peppers, all, excluding ornamentals

• Tomatoes, all

Section 5 – Foliage Plants for Indoor or Patio Use (in addition to the plant varieties, the

question has been expanded to include 3 different pot sizes)

• Aglaonema

• Bromeliad

• Cacti and Succulents

• Dracaena

• Epipremnum, (pothos)

• Ferns (tropical)

• Palms

• Spathiphyllum

• All other foliage plants

Hawaii Questionnaire

If the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture provides funding for an expanded horticultural questionnaire, then the Hawaii version will add the varieties above to the currently approved version for Hawaii. If funding is not provided, then the following crops will be removed from the currently approved version and Hawaii will use the US version of the questionnaire.
