In this survey, the term “activation“ refers to the involuntary or voluntary call to active duty in support of a declared national emergency (DNE) of a Reserve component or National Guard member under provision of 10 USC §12301(a) (Full Mobilization), 10 USC §12301(d) (Voluntary Active Duty if in support of a DNE), 10 USC §12302 (Partial Mobilization), 10 USC §12304 (Presidential Reserve Call-up), or 10 USC §12304a.
