Dear Sir or Madam,

This is a reminder to complete your National Animal Health Management System (NAHMS) Bison 2022 Survey, which is being conducted in conjunction with USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Thank you if you have already responded. If not, you still have time.

The current study is intended to capture a snapshot of bison health and management practices on U.S. bison operations in 2022. The outcomes from this study will be used to obtain more funding to study bison health issues and help the U.S. bison industry to better know and serve their producers in outreach, trade, and disease management programs. Your responses will be kept confidential and will be available in aggregate form only, ensuring that no individual operation or producer can be identified, as required by federal law. Your participation in this study is voluntary and extremely important.

The study offers three separate ways to respond. The secure online form to complete the Bison 2022 Study questionnaire is linked below, along with the 17-digit survey code you will need to complete your questionnaire. You may also complete and mail back the paper questionnaire that you received in the mail. If we do not hear from you by XXXX, 2022, we will attempt to contact you to complete the questionnaire over the phone. During the Bison 2022 Study questionnaire phase, you will be given the opportunity to consent to participate in the Biologics Phase, in which you will be able to test for internal parasites and their resistance to dewormers, enteric microbes, and nutritional value of pasture forage samples.

Thank you for participating and for your support of our programs and U.S. agriculture. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact NASS Customer Service at 1-888-424-7828.
