COVID-19 Protocols
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to pose challenges for the
community, while also affecting us all personally. The top priority of NHANES is
to protect the health and safety of participants and staff in the Mobile Exam Center.
Our COVID-19 mitigation protocol has been developed using CDC guidelines with the
input of health professionals. These protocols are intended to be flexible to adapt to
the changing landscape presented by COVID-19 and will follow current CDC guidelines.

Provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
NHANES will provide staff with PPE:

Disposable Masks

Face Shields

Disposable Gloves

Sanitizing
Multiple times during the day, NHANES staff will follow protocols to:

sanitize testing equipment and rooms between each participant exam

Hand Sanitizer

Your Arrival at the MEC

You will be asked
a series of questions

We will take
your temperature

You will be provided with a mask
if you did not bring your own

Hand sanitizer will be available
in all rooms

Health Monitoring
NHANES staff will perform a daily health self assessment and will work only if they do not have
symptoms and if they have no known exposures to COVID-19.
