Climate Change Call to Action:
Middle School Science Challenge
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is
looking for your ideas on how to address climate change issues in
your community!
Challenge Title: Climate Change and Your Community:
Making an Impact on Environmental Health
Eligible Applicants: North Carolina sixth and seventh grade
middle school science teachers located within schools in
disadvantaged and/or underserved communities impacted by
climate change
The Ask: This challenge is intended for middle schools students
to address climate change in their community, its health impacts,
development of community-driven solutions, and collaboration
through scientific inquiry.
The top five proposals will be presented and judged at the virtual
NIEHS Women’s Health Awareness Conference on Saturday, April
9, 2022. Individuals may receive support to implement their
projects within their local community.
Applications to participate in this program are due before
midnight, Monday, February 28, 2022.
