Dear Middle School Principal –

Please forward this email to your science department teachers!

Are you a science teacher looking to help your students learn about the environment and how to
create change in their community? The Women’s Health Awareness Climate Change in Your
Community Environmental Health Challenge may be just the opportunity! Individuals may receive
support to implement a climate change citizen science project within their local community.

This challenge is intended for sixth and seventh grade middle school students in North Carolina to
address climate change in their community, its health impacts, development of community-driven
solutions, and collaboration through scientific inquiry.

Science teachers who serve sixth and seventh grade students and work at schools in disadvantaged
and/or underserved communities in North Carolina are invited to apply today! Applications are due
by 11:59 p.m. E.T. on Monday, February 28, 2022.

The top five project proposals will be presented and judged at the virtual National Institute of
Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Women’s Health Awareness Conference on Saturday, April 9,
2022.

For more information about this opportunity, please join the virtual information session!
