OMB Control Number 0920-1354: Requirement for Airlines and Operators to Collect and Transmit Designated Information for Passengers and Crew Arriving Into the United States
Non-Substantive Change Request
Expiration: 05/31/2022
Program Contact: Colleen Brouillette, [email protected]
Submission Date: November 30, 2021
Justification for Change Request
This is a nonmaterial/non-substantive change request for OMB No. 0920-1354, expiration date 05/31/2022. All requested changes represent minor modifications to already-approved instruments including revised formatting, rewording, new answer options, and the addition/subtraction of a limited number of questions.
This non-substantive change request is to allow airlines to obtain the “acknowledgement” verbally from passengers. The acknowledgment is affirmation that airlines are required to obtain from passengers that passengers understand the purpose and intent of this information collection and that they are obligated to provide complete and accurate information to the U.S. government. Airlines will be required to post the full PRA information and Privacy Act statement in some way (e.g. laminated piece of paper or placard) for passengers to see when giving verbal acknowledgement. Airlines can get affirmation in the form of a verbal “yes” from passengers for this acknowledgement and are required to state that passengers can refer to the OMB No. 0920-1354 for more information about this collection and that the displayed information describes how the U.S. government is protecting and using the information being collected.
These changes will not affect the burden hours for this collection of information.
