Artificial Reef/Mariculture Status Report
Based upon the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
District Artificial Reef/Mariculture Permit or Public
Notice issued to you, NOAA’s National Ocean Service (NOS) requires information for our nautical charting effort in the interest
of safe navigation. NOS charts artificial reefs and mariculture sites permitted through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the
start of construction in order to provide the mariner with up-to-date information on these significant obstructions.

Special Instructions:
[1] If construction has commenced please provide any other relevant information (deployment diagrams, modified as-built
drawings, USACE Post-Deployment Notifications, etc.).
[2] Permitted Minimum Clearance, include tidal datum in MLW (Mean Low Water) or MLLW (Mean Lower Low Water)
[3] Please provide a digital or paper copy of the most recent Army Corps of Engineers permit or permit modification; affix
any modifications and as-built drawings that include control points (latitude/longitude or state plane coordinates) along with
horizontal datum information in NAD83 or NAD27. NOTE: If any future deployments occur outside of the permitted
boundary, or the deployments are shoaler than the permitted clearance, it is critical that we are notified promptly. The
notification must include documentation indicating the deployment positions (latitude/longitude in NAD83) and the
clearances of deployment positions in feet (include tidal datum in MLW or MLLW).
[4] If there was any deviation from the permitted plan, please provide a copy of the the most recent Permit Modification.
[5] Digital data is preferred for all submissions (.PDF files, GIS, etc.), but hard copies are acceptable if no alternative is
available.
