What is the SVSES?

The Sexual Violence Support & Experiences Study (SVSES) is a confidential and voluntary
study about Service members’ experiences with support services, aspects of the military justice
process, health, well-being, and career progression.

Who can join this CONFIDENTIAL study?

Anyone who has experienced sexual assault while serving in the U.S. Military (Active, Reserve,
or National Guard).

How will sharing my experiences help?

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) – the people who drive change
within the DoD – will use your feedback to improve support services survivors receive and the
processes survivors go through. Visit https:/www.sapr.mil/svses to learn more.

How will my identity be protected?

Anything you share will be kept confidential, meaning your identity will not be shared with anyone.

We have to have services that appeal to people,
that really do make a difference in their lives.
- Dr. Nate Galbreath, Deputy Director, DoD SAPRO
