It’s illegal to harvest or handle sawfish - report illegal activity

If you accidentally catch a sawfish

Keep it in the water - DO NOT bring it aboard or drag it ashore
DO NOT use gaffs or ropes to secure
Cut the line close to the hook - A quick release will increase its
chance of survival
DO NOT remove the saw (rostrum) - It will kill the sawfish
Support science - Report encounters to 1-844-4 SAWFISH
