then, if you’d like, playing with a new iPad app.

Reading Comprehension
We are working on a new project that helps teach students about our country’s history and the money we use. We will
ask you to read about U.S. history and we'll learn about our national symbols, the three branches of government, and
Abraham Lincoln.

Welcome
Thank you so much for helping us! Today we are going to do some fun activities and play with a new iPad app.
We are working on a new iPad app. Students just like are helping us test the app before we release it to everyone. We
want to learn from you, and hear your thoughts about the app. The app has special features using the camera, which
you'll get to play with later.
We’re making sure everything works well in app. There are no right or wrong answers. And I will be here helping when I
can as we go through the activities.
First, I have a few questions for you. Then, you’re going to get to complete some activities using the app. I will help you
read and understand each instruction. There may be things that are confusing! That’s OK. If you reach a point where
you can’t complete something and get frustrated, I’ll let you know if it’s OK to move on to the next one. When we're
done with the activities, I’ll have a few questions for you.
To help us understand what you’re thinking, please “think out loud,” saying aloud what you’re trying to do, what you’re
looking for and where you’re looking for it. Let me know me if something seems confusing to you.

App Guided Activities
With this app, we’ll be using the camera to learn about two different buildings
Talking point (optional): I want to explain what “A-R” means. “A” stands for “augment,” which means to add.
Augmented reality is a concept which adds a few things to our real world to make it better and interesting. The extra
stuff added to the real world is the information from the internet and a lot 3-D animations.
