Abstract: The collection of information is necessary in order to receive applications for grant funds, monitor project financial conditions and project progress, evaluate the effectiveness of grant-funded projects, and share best practices, pursuant to the Department’s Safe Streets and Roads for All discretionary grant program. The program is being implemented in accordance with Section 24112 and Division J of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Public Law No: 117-58; also referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law or BIL). The purpose of this program is to prevent traffic related fatalities and serious injuries on the nation’s roads. Section 24112(g)(1) specifically requires recipients to submit certain data, information, and analysis to the Secretary on a regular basis.
