Why am I getting this letter?
Enclosed is the Hawaii Aquaculture Survey. Please complete the questionnaire at your earliest
convenience. Your information is important to the aquaculture industry since the survey data will
result in a report providing official documentation for the size and growth of the industry, and
aquaculture’s importance to Hawai’i.
This report can then be used to encourage increased support of the industry by the Federal and
State Administration, Legislature, Counties, Congressional delegation, and the Universities
serving Hawaii. In 2020, Hawaii aquaculture sales totaled $66.4 million. Your response will help
determine the 2021 sales.

What should I do next?
Please respond to the survey in either of the following ways:
By mail – Fill out the survey questionnaire and return it in the envelope provided.
By fax – Fill out the survey questionnaire and fax it to (844) 332-7146.

If we do not receive a response from you by Friday, June 24, 2022, a representative from our office
will contact you to arrange a telephone interview.
The results of this survey will be kept confidential and will be available in aggregate form only,
ensuring that no individual operation or producer can be identified, as required by federal law.
We will publish the survey findings in the Hawaii Aquaculture Annual report, to be released
Friday, September 23, 2022.
