* Traceable Opioid Material* Kits to

Improve Laboratory Detection of
Drugs Involved in the Opioid Epidemic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is leading the
development of Traceable Opioid Material* Kits (TOM Kits*) to support
detection of emerging drugs associated with the opioid epidemic. CDC
maintains the contents of the TOM Kits* based on new needs identified,
in part, through Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Emerging
Threat and The Center for Forensic Science Research and Education
(CFSRE) Reports.
These kits are reference materials and do not eliminate the need to
meet analytical method requirements of other federal agencies. TOM
Kits* are NOT for diagnostic use.

TOM Kits*
• Manufactured and distributed by Cayman Chemical
• Includes 200 micrograms of analytical reference materials
• Improves immunoassay and mass spectrometry screening methods

Fentanyl Analog Screening (FAS) Kits

Emergent Drug Panel (EDP) Kits

• Five FAS Kit panels currently available

• Expected availability March 2023

• Includes over 250 synthetic opioids (over 210
fentanyl analogs)

• Includes 60 emerging opioids, synthetic
cannabinoids, benzodiazepines, stimulants,
and hallucinogens

Laboratories requesting one or both of the kits:
